DISCONTINUED HEARING AID RANGE
| 2021 Update: Now discontinued. View latest Widex hearing aids here
|Â Update:Â Now superseded by the far superior Widex Evoke range, there is no longer any reason to purchase these aids, though you will still find the occasional company selling them.Â
The Widex Beyond range was essentially very similar to the previous Widex Unique range, only with added "Made for iPhone" features. However as they were burdened with the underlying technology of the Unique, they were never a popular hearing aid.
For historic value, here is some basic technical information from the manufacturer about these aids:
Even the entry level hearing aid of this range still features the Beyond App, which is generally the main attraction of this ‘made for iPhone’ family. However, the higher the specification the greater the Widex technology – ideal for those who are tech savvy. All this enables you to almost completely control your hearing loss needs with your smartphone. The 2.4 GHZ Bluetooth connectivity streams audio from all your devices, with ease.Â
The premium level also includes Smartwind Manager that ultimately pinpoints speech in windy weather conditions by decreasing wind noise by up to 30%, thus achieving more clarity. Other additions insist of: Speech Enhancer System, Digital Pinna, Soft Level Noise Reduction and High Frequency Boost. Due to some people finding it more challenging to hear sounds with higher frequencies – this function is highly beneficial, as it allows these particular sounds to be more amplified.
