Overview

The newest Widex hearing aid is the Widex Allure AI RIC RD, launched globally on 20 May 2026 as part of the Widex Allure range. Its headline feature, Clarity Boost, is extra AI help with speech in noise that you switch on only when you want it.

Widex’s line-up for 2026 has two current ranges: Widex Allure, which now includes Allure AI, and the slim, design-led Widex SmartRIC. Below, we explain what’s new, how the ranges differ, and which is likely to suit you.

Widex Allure AI hearing aids:  Latest

Widex Allure AI is a rechargeable Receiver-in-Canal (RIC) hearing aid. A small unit sits behind your ear, and a thin wire carries sound to a tiny speaker in your ear canal. According to Widex, it’s the same size as the existing Allure RIC, so the extra technology doesn’t make it bigger.

How Clarity Boost works

Most AI hearing aids keep their AI processing running in the background. Widex has taken a different route. Widex states that Allure AI uses two chips: its W1 chip handles everyday sound as it does in the rest of the Allure range, and a second, dedicated AI chip only switches on when you activate Clarity Boost.

When it’s on, Widex says Clarity Boost focuses on the voices in front of you and reduces background noise, but keeps some of your surroundings audible at a lower level rather than shutting them out. You decide when to use it, with a press of the hearing aid button, through the Allure app, with Widex’s remote control or through your phone’s accessibility settings.

In practical terms, this suits someone who is happy with how Widex sounds day to day but finds restaurants, family gatherings or group conversations hard work. Because the AI isn’t running all the time, everyday listening stays exactly as it was.

Other details Widex has shared:

• Battery: Up to 32 hours on a charge, including up to six hours of Clarity Boost or streaming
• Charging: A standard charger, a Charge & Clean charger, or Qi wireless charging
• Connectivity: Direct streaming from iPhone and compatible Android phones, Bluetooth LE Audio, hands-free calls and a telecoil. It is Auracast-ready, with a software update needed before it can connect to Auracast broadcasts
• Fitting: Allure AI is fitted using Widex’s newer Compass Cloud 2.0 software, which your audiologist uses during your in-person appointment

Widex Allure hearing aids:  Current

Launched in March 2025, the Widex Allure hearing aid range is widely regarded as Widex's most significant release in several years, built on an entirely new W1 chip with Precision Hearing Technology.

The standout feature is 0.5ms ZeroDelay processing, which Widex states delivers crystal-clear, distortion-free sound through the Allure PureSound program. Widex states this has improved speech intelligibility in noise by 4.3dB, which in practical terms means picking out more of what's said in a busy room without that slight, unnatural "processed" quality some hearing aids have.

Speech Enhancer Pro is Widex's system for separating speech from background noise. The Enhanced Sound Classifier automatically adapts across 11 different listening environments, so the aids adjust themselves as you move from a quiet room into somewhere busier.

Widex has since added Allure AI to the range, with Clarity Boost at the 440 and 330 levels (see above). Every other Allure model keeps Widex’s standard natural-sound processing.

Available in Receiver-in-Canal (RIC), Behind-the-Ear (BTE), and In-the-Ear (ITE) styles, all Allure models feature rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, Bluetooth LE Audio connectivity with hands-free calling, and the intuitive Widex Allure App with AI-powered personalisation features.

Widex SmartRIC hearing aids:  Current

Widex launched the SmartRIC hearing aid range in April 2024 with a new slim L-shaped Receiver-in-Canal (RIC) hearing solution.  Powered by the Moment platform chip, this design includes microphones that are placed in such a way that it improves your directionality and focus - especially in speech targeting. 

With SmartRIC hearing aids, Widex is rethinking the way in which sound is captured within a hearing aid.  This should effectively offer you an even more natural sound with access to the voices and sounds you want to hear and better focus where you need it the most.

Which Widex hearing aid is right for me?

• If you rarely find yourself in very busy places, a standard Allure model is likely to be enough, and the 220 or 110 levels may suit a quieter lifestyle and tighter budget.

Summary
