Latest Hearing Aid UK Update:  16/07/2026

Overview

Looking for a hearing aid that doesn't look or sound like a "hearing aid"? Signia has built its reputation on exactly that. From the discreet, rechargeable Styletto to the true-wireless Active Mini IX earbuds, Signia's ranges are designed to be worn with confidence, not hidden.

Whether it's your first hearing aid or an upgrade, Signia offers real choice in how visible or invisible you'd like it to be, from the Styletto's designer charging case to the Active Mini IX true-wireless earbuds and the Pure Charge&Go IX.

Signia states that its Own Voice Processing technology is designed to make your own voice sound more natural, and its RealTime Conversation Enhancement is built to adapt automatically as conversations shift between speakers.

Every Signia hearing aid is fitted and fine-tuned in person by one of our HCPC-registered audiologists, either at a local clinic or during a free home visit, so the settings are calibrated to your actual hearing.

Built on the heritage of Siemens (which pioneered the first behind-the-ear hearing aid in 1959 and the first digital hearing aid), Signia is now part of WS Audiology.

"Signia's Own Voice Processing genuinely solves a real problem: plenty of people give up on hearing aids in the first few weeks because their own voice sounds strange to them. We'd always start with what environment someone spends most of their time in (busy office, quiet home, lots of phone calls) before aesthetics"

Paul Harrison, Audiology Expert and Founder, Hearing Aid UK

A brief history of Signia hearing aids

Signia, Siemens, Sivantos- it's all quite confusing. Siemens's early hearing aids reflected the analogue technology of the time. In 2015, Sivantos bought the hearing aid division of Siemens. Two years later, the name Siemens was dropped, and the brand became Signia.

Available in a variety of colours, Signia hearing aids are designed to be sleek and discreet, even in the Behind the Ear style. Here's a guide to the ranges:

Hearing aid models and technology levels - 7, 5, 3, 2, 1

The higher the number, the higher the technology level and the higher the price.  This brand also has names for their models, such as:  Styletto - Rechargeable RIC, Motion - Standard BTE, Pure - RIC, Insio and Silk - Custom-made CIC, and Charge&Go - Rechargeable.

Signia groups its hearing aids into style families first, and technology level second. The style determines how the hearing aid looks and fits; the technology level determines how well it performs in things like background noise and how many features it includes.

Which one is right for me?

If discretion matters most to you, Insio or Silk (custom, In-the-Ear) will sit less visibly than a Behind-the-Ear style. If you'd rather not fuss with anything custom-moulded, Pure Charge&Go is Signia's most flexible option and suits the widest range of hearing loss.

If you like the idea of a hearing aid that also looks like a piece of design, Styletto's charging case and slim profile are built with that in mind. And if you'd simply rather it looked like a wireless earbud, Active Mini IX is worth asking about.

This is a starting point, not a diagnosis. Your audiologist will confirm which style and technology level actually suits your hearing during your free hearing test, and there's no obligation to decide anything before then.

What sets Signia apart: German engineering meets fashion-forward design

Sivantos Group, the parent firm of Signia, has a legacy going back to 1878 when Werner von Siemens developed an enhanced telephone receiver after seeing that some with hearing loss had difficulty understanding on the phone.

The company that grew from this foundation maintains a philosophy of compassion and the need to help others.

The Siemens brand has been renowned throughout its history for producing high-quality hearing technologies. Although Siemens created the first behind-the-ear hearing aid in 1959, they are perhaps better known for pioneering the digital hearing aid with two directional microphones, as well as a waterproof digital hearing aid.

Siemens Hearing Instruments was recently purchased by Sivantos, which has now started to use the Signia name for its hearing products released subsequently.

Signia hearing aid technology and features

Special features

Signia delivers high-end features in a broad range of products to help those with hearing loss. The hearing manufacturer builds on Siemens' technology heritage with innovations in sound processing, connectivity and rechargeable systems. Here are some of the unique features found in Signia hearing devices:

Own Voice Processing (OVP)

Thanks to Signia's Own Voice Processing (OVP) technology, your personal voice sounds are treated distinctly from external voices, ensuring uncompromised clarity and quality in your auditory perception, regardless of the soundscape.

This enables the user to effectively reproduce the natural sound of their own voice when wearing hearing aids. The Signia hearing aids provide the user with the most natural all-around hearing experience.

Ultra HD e2e

In addition to the wearer's natural voice experience, Ultra HD e2e also enables binaural beam-forming technology to offer a clear understanding of speech even in the noisiest environments.

Acoustic Motion Sensors

These sensors seamlessly adapt to accommodate your specific listening environment, ensuring clear and optimal hearing performance wherever your journey takes you.

Bluetooth technology and charging systems

Harnessing Bluetooth technology, you can effortlessly establish a direct connection to your smartphone for phone calls or music streaming. Moreover, the myControl app empowers you to discreetly fine-tune your settings to suit various scenarios.

A convenient, portable charging case offers an additional three days' worth of battery life, ensuring that your hearing aids remain powered no matter your location. Alternatively, you can opt for wireless charging, simply placing your hearing aids on a charging pad instead of needing to plug them into an electrical outlet.

HD Music

Any musician or music enthusiast will remind you that live music is much different from recorded music. This is taken into consideration in some Signia models, including the Primax line. Advanced technology separates configurations for different kinds of musical environments.

So, you're going to have a wonderful listening experience, whether you're watching a live show, playing an instrument yourself, or listening to recorded music.

The Signia MyHearing App is an intuitive smartphone app for wearers of hearing aids. It offers the ability to talk to your hearing health professional directly, so that they may help you fine-tune settings remotely. This removes the need for an in-office visit.

Signia's hearing aid accessories offer iPhone and Android Bluetooth connectivity to your hearing aids.  Devices such as Signia StreamLine Mic, Signia StreamLine TV and more.

Android compatibility and troubleshooting

Are Signia hearing aids Android compatible?  With the latest Signia hearing aids, you can now stream directly from and to Android devices via ASHA.  It is important to get to know your hearing devices, so write down all your queries before you visit your audiologist.
