Hearing Aid Manufacturer Phonak Wins Two Red Dot Awards

The Swiss hearing aid manufacturer Phonak has won two awards for product design.

Its newest hearing aid and its FM loudspeaker has been awarded by an international jury in the red dot design awards 2011.

The Phonak Audeo S SMART, the latest luxurious hearing aid, and the DigiMaster 5000 loudspeaker for enhanced speech intelligibility are the winners. Both products were bestowed the honour by 34 respected designers due to the outstanding products design.

Over 4,000 products from around 1,700 companies and 60 countries from around the world were taken into account.

The winners were judged on criteria innovation, functionality, longevity, emotional content and ecological aspects.

A spokesperson said: “The coveted quality label [was] only [given] to products that considerably outperform comparable products with their excellent design.”

Phonak Acting CEO Alexander Zschokke commentated on the award saying: “This is a clear acknowledgement that Phonak hearing aids through our ongoing innovation are simply stylish, functional and robust.”

The recognition follows the prized Audeo MINI and the iF product.

Phonak has developed, produced and globally distributed state-of-the-art hearing systems and wireless devices for more than 60 years.

Other recommended products include the phonak audio and the phonak ambra.
