Our service explained

One of the first questions that many people ask is “what’s included in the price”? Good question. This is usually due to the fact that they have been quoted a much higher price by another company and are looking for the catch.

Many companies charge greatly inflated prices and then offer so called “discounts” to make their price appear competitive. We are totally against sales techniques such as these. We offer one, low, fair price. We don’t believe that medical devices such as hearing instruments should be provided in this manner. We believe our prices are among the lowest in the UK – if not the lowest. This doesn’t mean that we compromise on the quality of our service. On the contrary. We believe our service is second to none. The price you see listed on our price list is precisely the price that you pay. This includes VAT, manufacturer’s warranty, fitting, testing and all aftercare for the life of the hearing aids. Hearing aids, if properly maintained, should last at least 5 years and in many cases much longer.

All of our hearing aid audiologists are able to provide home visits at no cost. This means that we can come to you for all your appointments. Hearing aid fitting and testing equipment is very light and portable these days. Most people’s homes are relatively quiet and headphones are used to provide the necessary audiometric testing. If you live in a noisy location then we can use insert headphones to eliminate external noises. It is not necessary to conduct these tests in a soundproof room unless testing is to be done in a busy high street shop or hospital.

All our hearing aid audiologists are fully qualified and registered with the Health Professions Council. We are able to provide the choice of all hearing aids commercially available. We are not owned wholly or partially by any manufacturer so our advice is truly impartial. All hearing tests and consultations are free and without obligation.

The only additional costs are if accessories such as TV streamers are required and also of batteries. In case you are unfamiliar with the cost of hearing aid batteries then each hearing aid should cost around £10 per year. If you’re wearing 2 hearing aids then you should be spending around £20 per year. Any more than this and you’re probably being overcharged.

It is important to note that over the last few years, rechargeable hearing aids have become more popular. With some models there may be an additional cost to having rechargeable aids which will vary, depending on the manufacturer.
